A visa is an official document issued by a country's government that grants you permission to enter. Visas often require you to visit an embassy or consulate, submit supporting documents such as bank statements and travel itineraries, and sometimes attend an interview. They can take weeks or even months to process and often come with a fee.
Visas are typically required for travellers from countries that do not have a visa-free agreement with the destination country.
